Mary Frances (Frankie) Carroll was called home to be with her Lord and Savior at the young age of 95 on July 28, 2023.  Frankie was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend.

Frankie, the only daughter of 5 children, was born on October 11, 1927 to George and Frances Jones in Oklahoma City.  With her father in the cattle business, she spent her early years both in Oklahoma City and in Osage County prior to attending college.  Frankie started college at Mount Saint Scholastica in Atchison, Kansas; however, she transferred to Oklahoma A&M and became an OSU Cowboy fan for life.  While at Oklahoma A&M, she was a proud member of the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority.  Upon graduating with a degree in business, Frankie headed to Midland, Texas – it was 1950, the oil industry was booming and Midland was the perfect place for a cute new college graduate to start her career.   Over the next several years, she also worked in Denver, Colorado before moving to Tulsa, Oklahoma.

It was in Tulsa, Oklahoma that Frankie met the love of her life via a blind date.  James Joseph (Jim) Carroll was a widower with two amazing girls, Patricia Ellen and Susan Kathryn.  Jim and Frankie married on May 27th, 1967, and they were instantly a family of four.   Mary Courtney completed the family and they relocated to Ardmore, Oklahoma when Courtney was a toddler.  Jim and Frankie had a wonderful and loving marriage, 3 beautiful girls and truly enjoyed each other's company – discussing the Wall Street Journal over an evening cocktail was a frequent activity.  Sadly, the marriage was too short as Jim passed away on May 8, 1975.  Jim's death was tough on the entire family; however, Frankie leaned on her family, friends and her church.

A few years after Jim's death, Frankie decided to restart her career and was hired by Exchange National Bank.  She loved "the bank" and worked her way up to an Assistant Vice-President.  Her passion was working in the Trust Department where she could work closely with customers while utilizing her skill for numbers.  She worked at the bank until her retirement at the age of 67.  Post retirement, Frankie embarked on a life of family, friends and travel.  She never met a stranger and thoroughly enjoyed experiencing different cultures around the world.  From amazing curries and riding an elephant to the fjords of Norway, Frankie was game for any adventure.  In fact, in November of 2022, she energetically confirmed that her passport was still valid!

Throughout her life, Frankie has put God first and has been very active in her faith.  A longtime member of Saint Mary's Catholic Church in Ardmore, she could be found through the years arranging flowers on the altar, baking bread for every Women's Group bake sale to teaching Sunday School.  She loved her church and felt so at peace when she was there.

Frankie will be lovingly remembered by her daughters Patricia Carroll Leikam (Kip), Susan Carroll Bennett (David), and Courtney Carroll Jones (Casey), grandchildren Matt Bennett, Robert Leikam (Christian), Alex Leikam (Lauren), Chandler Jones and Parker Jones as well as four great grandchildren.  Frankie will be dearly missed by her two surviving brothers, Robert Jones and Michael Jones as well as numerous other relatives and friends.

The family would especially like to thank Mary Elizabeth Reavis and Judy Kenaga.  Mary Liz and Judy were like sisters to Frankie.  From the almost daily visits to countless doctors' appointments and hospital visits and some great food, drink and merriment in between, you both are angels.  Thank you as well to the countless other friends and family for the unwavering love and support you showed our sweet mom.

A Rosary will be held at Craddock Funeral Home Thursday evening at 6:00 p.m. with a visitation to follow. Her Funeral Mass will be held Friday, August 4th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father Kevin Ratterman and Deacon Michael Jones officiating.
