Memorial services for Mary Harmon are scheduled for Saturday, May 6 th at 1:00 p.m. at the Craddock Memorial Chapel with Kathryn Abbey officiating.
Mary Carolyn Harmon was born June 21, 1946 to Estel Ray and Oleta Loral Martin in Sulphur, OK. She passed from this life on May 3, 2023 surrounded by loved ones.
Mary was a graduate of Fox High School in the class of 1964. On August 20, 1966 she married Larry Harmon. Mary attended Murray State College and Southeastern State University where she obtained a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education in 1981. She continued her education at East Central University, earning her Master's degree in Early Childhood Education. Before her career in education Mary worked at Frederick Accounting Company in Oklahoma City. She began teaching at Franklin Elementary in 1982 and remained there until her retirement in 2004.
Mary loved to have a good time. She enjoyed bowling, playing bingo, and testing her luck at the casino. Mary also loved a Route 44 coke with extra ice from Sonic. Most of all she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mary will be remembered as someone who loves and cares for others. She was always helpful, compassionate, and present for others.
Mary was proceeded in death by her husband Larry Harmon; son Russell Ray Harmon; parents Estel Ray and Oleta Loral Martin; stepfather William Holbrook, Sr.; sister Shirley Morris; and brothers Bob Alexander and Gene Martin.
She is survived by her daughter Regina Mischeal Harmon Wright and her husband Larry of Davis, OK; granddaughters Tonya Marie Campbell and her husband Ian of Ardmore and Amber Dawn Morris and her husband Courtland of Beaufort, SC; and great granddaughter Riley Rae Morris of Beaufort, SC.
