Maxine Colston was born July 22, 1934 to Alta Vernon (Wilson) and Jess Links in Era, TX. She passed from this life on May 4, 2022 at the age of 87.

On September 22, 1951, she married Bob Colston in Gainesville, TX. They lived in Ardmore and Marietta for many years. They had three children, Ronnie, Lisa, and Leah. Maxine spent her remaining years as a resident of StoneCreek Assisted Living Center in Edmond.

Maxine was known for her fiery attitude and telling the truth, whether you wanted to hear it or not. She enjoyed shopping, coloring, needlepoint, and spending time with her loved ones on their family farm.

Maxine was preceded in death by her parents, Alta and Jess Links; Bob Colston, father of her children; and her siblings Junior Links, C.W. Links, and Jean Smith.

She is survived by her son Ronnie Colston and his wife Cindy; daughters Lisa Bean and her husband Steve, and Leah Johnson and her husband Matt; sister Lorene Caulfield; grandchildren Tiffany Nichols and her husband Zach, Derek Wallace and his wife Sami, Jacey Alford and her husband Preston, Cara Wilkins and her husband Josh, Garrett Johnson, and Ella Johnson; and six great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be Monday, May 9 at 10:00 a.m. at Lakeview Cemetery in Marietta, OK, with Rev. Rick Lane officiating.
