Memorial services for Michael W. Jones will be Wednesday, July 3 rd at 11:00 a.m. at the Craddock Memorial Chapel with Kirk Blancett officiating. Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Craddock Funeral Home.
Michael "Mike" Jones was born October 7, 1946 to Anna Faye (Chaney) and Claude Jones in Chickasha, OK. He passed from this life on June 30, 2019 at the age of 72.
Mike was a graduate of Ninnekah High School with the class of 1966. A talented baseball player, he briefly attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University before enlisting in the U.S. Army. On March 13 th , 1970 he married the love of his life, Connie Eakes in Chickasha, OK and together, they raised two sons, Charlie and Shannon. He had a large collection of hobbies, including art, music, woodcarving and writing, but especially had a passion for writing plays and collaborating with the Moonlight Writers and other local writing groups. An active member of the Masonic Temple, Scottish Rite and Military Order of the Purple Heart, Mike was loved by his many friends and family and will be greatly missed.
Mike was preceded in death by his loving wife Connie, his parents, Claude and Anna Faye Jones; and brother Patrick Jones.
He is survived by his sons, Shannon Jones and his wife Cheri of Ardmore and Charlie Jones and his wife Jori of Bellevue, NE; sisters Cheryl Foster and Marlene Davis, grandchildren; Taylor Jones and her fiancé Robert Dunn, Sydney Jones, Hunter Jones, Archer Jones, Zamara Jones and her significant other Dezmon Chetpatananont, Alec Jones, Hannah Piggee and her husband Josh, and Will Washburn; and great grandchildren Journey Marie Piggee, Alyissia Isaac-Dunn, and Kenzo Chetpatananont.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Ardmore Little Theater at www.ardmorelittletheater.com/support/how-can-i-help.html where Mike enjoyed watching some of his collaborative writings with friends.
