Funeral Services for Paul Lewis Almon are scheduled for Tuesday, December 18th, 2018, at 11:00 am at  Emmanuel Baptist Church with Rev. Donny Custar officiating. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery with full military honors.  The family will host a visitation Monday evening from 6:00 to 7:00 PM at the Craddock Funeral Home.

Paul was born Dec. 22, 1950 in Ardmore to Aubra Ray and Betty Ann (Spurlock) Almon.  He went to be with Jesus December 14, 2018 in Ardmore surrounded by his wife and kids.

He and Vicki Crittenden married in Ardmore on September 14, 1979.

He graduated from Ardmore High School 1969 where he was All Conference and All State  in football.  He went to Southeastern Oklahoma State University on a scholarship.  Paul was also a member of the 1991 Co-Ed Amateur softball National Championship team and a member of the Oklahoma Softball Hall of Fame for Home Runs and No Hitters.

He joined the United States Army, on June 24, 1970 where he served his country for 34 years 2 months.  He fought in Vietnam, serving in the Airborne and Military Police with over 300 jumps.  After serving in the Army, he spent the rest of his service in the Oklahoma National Guard in many roles but retired as a Transportation Movement Coordinator.  Paul retired from the Military as a Master Sargent E-8.

He worked for the Carter County Sheriff Department from 1998 to 2016.  While there he was involved in Narcotics, SWAT Team and the Blue Knights.

Paul also worked as a investigator for the District Attorney's office.

Serving as Pallbearers will be James Morrow, Steve Spurlock, Roger Day, Barry Bowker, Rodney Day and Alan Fite.

Honorary Pallbearers will be the members of Boyd Howell's Sunday School Class at Emmanuel Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife Vicki of the home: mother, Betty Almon of Ardmore; son, Jerren Almon and his wife Christa of Blanchard, Ok.; daughters, Meredith Vickery and her husband Matt of West Monroe, La., Monica Caldwell of Ardmore; brothers, Eddie Almon and his wife Rosetta of Pauls Valley, Ok., David Almon of Ardmore.  Paul is also survived by his 8 grandchildren, Kylie Almon, Jaxen Almon, Marlee Taylor, Kreiden Almon, Brynlee Caldwell, Holland Vickery, Rowdy Caldwell and Baylor Vickery.  Numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Memorials can be left to the Oklahoma Veteran Center in Ardmore, 1015 South Commerce or Cross Timbers Hospice, 207 "C" Street N.W.
