Obituary

God called one of his own home, sister Paula Jean Dawkins Kendrick went to her heavenly home on July 14, 2018 at St. Frances Hospital in Tulsa, she was 56 years, 1 month and 9 days old.

Funeral services for Paula J. Dawkins Kendrick are scheduled for Saturday at the Corinth Baptist Church with Pastor Abraham Walton and Rev. Michael Richards officiating.  Interment will follow in Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Gene Autry.

Paula was born June 5, 1962 in Friona, Tx. to Jessie and Corine (Owens) Dawkins. They later moved to Ardmore where she joined the Corinth Baptist Church at an early age with pastor Rev. CM Franks.  She started her education in the Ardmore School System where she graduated from Ardmore High School with the Class of 1980.  She attended the University of Oklahoma in Norman.  She later returned to Ardmore where she started her life with a beautiful baby doll, LaJohna Ajaia, born November 8, 1981.  She met and married Tony Kendrick in 1984.

She started her employment in Ardmore at the Southern Oklahoma Technology Center for many years before taking a manager position with Winstar Casino and later transferring to Tulsa, at River Spirit Casino. She later went to work in the Tulsa Public School System as a Cafeteria manager until her health began to fail.

She enjoyed living closer to the love of her life, her granddaughter Landan.  But missed her church home, Corinth Baptist Church, but would listen to the sermons on Facebook when she could.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Tony, mother Corine, father Jessie and grandparents Freddie and Anna Owens.

She is survived by her loving and caring daughter, LaJohna, granddaughter Landan; five sisters, Barbara, Deloris, CoAnn and husband Stanley, Tammie and Lisa; Brother, Jessie; Mother in law, Verlene Jackson; Sister in laws, Velvet Kendrick and Cordelia Pickens.; Nieces and nephews, Mario, Fred, Kendra, Chad, Corra, Marcus, Darrell, Jarvis, Angelica, Al, Decora, Brittany, Cala, Catera, Dante, Mariah, and great nieces and nephews with a host of special cousins and friends.

Flower girls will be her cousins,

Serving as Pallbearers will be, Mario Dawkins, Chad Dawkins, Marcus Dawkins, Darrell Anderson, Al Dawkins, Jarvis Dawkins, Dante Bryant.
