Richard Michael "Mike" Hamilton, age 72, of Norman, Oklahoma, passed away on Tuesday, August 22, 2023, in Norman. Cremation services were entrusted to Alexander Gray Funeral Home of Wilson, Ok and his ashes will be interred at Hewitt Cemetery in the Pass family plot along with the ashes of his late father, William "Bill" Hamilton Jr. and his beloved huskies, Marco and Marco Tuo.

Mike was born on November 11, 1950, in Ardmore, Oklahoma, to William Lee "Bill" Hamilton Jr. and Dathene Elaine  "Dottie" (Pass) Kasey. He graduated from Enid High School and continued his education at the University of Oklahoma.

Mike was organizer of the Friends of the Duck Pond on OU campus, and helped organize the first road trips of students from OU to Texas for the Red River rivalry. They would all gather and caravan down to the ball game.

Mike dedicated much of his professional life to the University of Oklahoma Police Department, beginning as a patrol officer. Over the years, he served in various roles within the department, ultimately overseeing security operations for OU's athletic events and numerous public gatherings. In addition to his law enforcement career, Mike served as an EMT with the University of Oklahoma Emergency Response Team.

Outside of his work, Mike led a life full of adventure and curiosity. He was an avid skydiver, a martial arts enthusiast, and enjoyed fishing. He especially cherished hunting trips with his great  uncle, Henry Pass of Wilson, Oklahoma. After retirement, he enjoyed watching OU football games with his mother and his longtime friend, John Chisholm. A passionate reader, Mike spent countless hours exploring new ideas and stories through books. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Enid, OK.

He was preceded in death by his father, Bill Hamilton Jr.

Mike is survived by his mother, Dottie (Pass) Kasey of Norman, as well as numerous cousins and a circle of cherished family and friends who will remember him fondly.
