Richard Don Ivie "Scout" was born August 12th, 1949 in Marlow Oklahoma to Don Ivie and Joyce Imogen Carroll-Ivie "Mama Jean" He departed this life Thursday December 28, 2023 at his home in Wynnewood Oklahoma
Richard spent many years driving a truck for a living all across the country. The people who knew Richard best would tell ya, he was no stranger to tellin' you exactly how he felt or his opinion on the matter. He was a straight shooter. They will also tell you how much he loved his longtime companion Nancy Carroll, who he just adored with all of his heart. Together they enjoyed spending time with Roger and Dian, going out listening to country music, dancing, singing, and hanging out with friends. One of the main joys in his life was spending time with his "monkey" Kash Carroll. Pawpaw Richard always had a big sweet tooth and made sure his house was full of sweets for when his monkey came over. He also enjoyed car rides, mowing, farming and animals of all kinds.
Richard is preceded in death by his parents; Don Ivie and Joyce Ivie; brothers Hershel Grant and Terry Grant; sisters Linda Barston, Markey McCrae, Nancy Devalt, and Carline Grant; longtime companion Nancy Carroll. He is survived by Brother Roger Ivie and his wife Dian of Stratford Okla; Sisters Judy Perry and her husband Forest of McAllen; Teresa Hardwick of Oklahoma City Okla; Angela Mitchell of Duncan Okla; Daughter Donnetta Lawson of Comanche Okla; Grandson Kash Carroll of Lone Grove Okla.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
