Robert Junior
Vaughn
Jun 29, 1941 — Aug 1, 2024
Ardmore
Robert Junior Vaughn was called home on Thursday, August 1, 2024. He was born June 29, 1941. Family and friends called him Junior. In his youth he grew up in the Leon/Cheek Community south of Lone Grove before moving to Ardmore. He married the love of his life, Gale Christine Vaughn on October 14th, 1960. They were joyfully married for 63 years, and they had three daughters that were the jewels in their lives, Debra, Nancy, and Sandy.
Junior worked with his dad in his auto body shop in Ardmore, eventually taking over and running it with his brother Jerb. Vaughn's Body Shop was his lifelong employment, something he took great pride in. He was one of the top body shops around; his love for cars shone through the dedication of his work. When he wasn't at the shop, he would drag home anything that had a motor on it. He could tinker around with whatever the project was and get it running. The man was known to be able to fix anything! He had a love for his farm animals, gardening, fishing, and the outdoors. Junior was known for his patience. Very rarely did he get mad, he always had an even temper. He taught his 9 grandchildren how to drive in his old Toyota, there were several close calls with fences and ditches that they all loved to recall and laugh about. He loved to joke and pester those that he loved. He could tell stories that brought people to tears with laughter.
Preceded in death by his grandson Joseph Stella, wife Christine Vaughn, daughters Debra Mills and Nancy Mutchek. His siblings Marie Roberts, Ora Mae O'Dell and Jerb Vaughn. He is survived by his daughter Sandy Floyd and sister Carolyn Howard. His grandchildren Amanda, Matthew, Kristyn, Tiffani, Brittany, Zachary, Heather, Michelle, and Michael. Numerous great grandchildren, nieces, and nephew's
Graveside service will be held Wednesday, August 14th at 10:00 a.m. at the Old Lone Grove Cemetery. A luncheon is to follow. Please contact Sandy Floyd for more information.
