Ronald "Ray" Mays was born December 8, 1954 to Bobbie Jean (Hartman) and Kenneth Ray Mays in Courtney, OK. He passed from this life on April 8, 2018 at the age of 63.

Ray was a graduate from Healdton High School and was a lifelong resident of the Ardmore area. On March 20, 1999 he married Kathy Redding in Lone Grove, OK. Ray worked for Walmart in the store planning home office for 27 years.

Ray had a great love for the outdoors. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, fishing, and camping at Caney Creek in Lake Texoma. Ray also enjoyed working with his hands. He could build anything from a stair handrail to a black powder rifle. Ray loved spending time with his family and will be greatly missed by many.

Ray was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Mays; and nephew Billy Sullivan.

He is survived by his wife Kathy Mays of the home; sons Mickey Mays and his wife Kandi, Matthew Mays and his wife Megan, Clay Redding and his wife Kimberly, and Kory Redding and his wife Stephanie; daughters Cindy Boling and her husband Jerry and Keri Edmonds; mother Bobbie Mays; 19 grandkids; sister Rhonda Perkins and her husband Perk; brother Richard Mays and his wife Kim; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friends Audie Gee, John Blanton, and Leonard Jones.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 11th, at the Craddock Memorial Chapel with Dan Stewart officiating. Visitation is Tuesday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Craddock Funeral Home.
