Obituary

Salvador Carrillo was born July 11, 1932 to Teresa (Barrajaf) and Hilario Carrillo in San Jose, CA. He passed from this life on November 2, 2024 at the age of 92.

Salvador was a graduate of Washington High School in the class of 1952. Upon graduation he enlisted in the United States Army and drove amphibian tanks. While in the Army, he competitively boxed with his fellow comrades. After proudly serving his country, Salvador began his career at the Ford Manufacturing Plant in Milpitas where he remained until his retirement.  On July 12, 1980 he married Glenda Kinsey at the Lake Murray Chapel in Ardmore, OK. They remained in the Ardmore area until his passing.

Salvador had a passion for coaching. He coached basketball and men's softball teams that were so good, were asked not to participate. Salvador mentored Plainview High School girls in softball and basketball. He was a lifelong Golden State Warriors fan. Salvador was also involved with FFA and bred, raised, showed, and sold game fowl throughout his life.

Salvador was preceded in death by his parents Hilario and Teresa Carrillo; sisters Lola Acedego and Juanita Alvarez; and brothers Winslow Carrillo and Manual Carrillo.

He is survived by his wife Glenda Carrillo;  son Daniel Carrillo; daughters Denise Carrillo, Starla Roth and her husband Ken, Diane Swihart and her husband Bud, and Danita Carrillo-Zolck; brother Emilio Carrillo;  14 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, November 8th at 1:00 p.m. at the Craddock Memorial Chapel with Father Kevin Ratterman officiating. Interment will follow at Seaman First Class Billy Turner Veterans Cemetery.
