Sharon Kay Metheny was born Sunday May 27, 1945, in Lyons, Kansas to Delmar and Burnetta (Lytle) Chapman and died Wednesday August 14, 2024, in Healdton, Oklahoma at the age of 79 years old.

Sharon married Dennis Metheny in Hugoton, Kansas on February 2, 1963, and enjoyed 61 years of marriage. She started working in Computer Programming in the late 1970's which was rare during that time for a woman in a male dominated field. Most of her work life was in Aviation, working at both Cessna and Raytheon. Later in life she worked in real estate in Washington State. The most favorite time of her life was living in Arlington, Washington at the home on Glen Eagles Golf Course. She loved golfing! Her favorite courses were on Maui but spent lots of time on the course at Terradyne Country Club in Andover, Kansas, even scoring a hole in one. She specifically loved spending time with her grandchildren and was really looking forward to the arrival of her first great grandchild.

Sharon is preceded in death by her parents, Delmar and Burnetta Chapman and her son, Robert Metheny. She is survived by her husband, Dennis Metheny; daughter, Robin Metheny; grandsons, Joshua, and Tanner McClellan; future granddaughter-in-law, Alexandria Molina; brothers, Delmar and Ronald Chapman as well as many nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved dearly.
