Shawn Paul
Smith
Nov 28, 1990 — Jul 20, 2025
A memorial service for Shawn Paul Smith is scheduled for Saturday, July 26, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Emmanuel Baptist Church, Ardmore, OK with Dr. Alton Fannin, Rev. Donny Custar, and Josiah Custar officiating. Visitation will be Friday evening from 6 to 7:00 p.m. at Craddock Funeral Home.
Shawn was born November 28, 1990 to Paul and Kimberly Smith in Oklahoma City, OK. He passed from this life on July 20, 2025 at the age of 34.
Shawn was a graduate of Ardmore High School's Class of 2009 where he participated on the football, wrestling, and baseball teams. Upon graduation, he attended Southeastern Oklahoma State University where he obtained a Bachelor's degree in Safety. Shawn had a passion for sports and OU football. He enjoyed the outdoors (with the town of Talihina being a favorite oasis). He had a talent for woodworking and carpentry and could fix just about anything. Listening to music and playing his guitar were some of his favorite
hobbies.
Shawn had a sharp wit. He had a way of making us laugh, even on the hardest of days. He loved deeply, and he loved his family most of all. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and was the best at keeping up with and caring for his grandparents. We will always remember how much he cared for the people around him and the way he showed that love through his actions. He was someone upon whom his family could depend. He was a wonderful son, and he was also a proud and loving brother. Lezlie and Chad miss him
dearly. The bond they shared was strong, full of memories, laughter, and love that will stay with them forever.
Though Shawn endured spiritual and emotional struggles in the final season of his life, we find peace in knowing that he now rests in the presence of a merciful and loving God, free from all suffering.
Shawn was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Eugene Smith; maternal: great- grandmother, Bess Barnett; grandfather, Richard Wise; grandmother, Margaret Wise; and uncle, Toby Don Wise.
He is survived by his parents, Paul and Kimberly Smith; sister, Lezlie Hicks and her husband, Matthew, and their sons, Morgan and Preston; brother, Chad Smith and his wife, Tierani; grandmother, Jamie Estus; Uncle Billy Smith and his wife Gliniss; Aunt Angela Rosencrans and
her husband Dean; and cousins Corrie Smith, Emma Rosencrans, and Abby Rosencrans.
