Obituary

Shirley (Friday) Felton was born August 19, 1931 to Robbye (Douthit) and Ernest Friday in Dallas, Texas. She passed from this life on February 22, 2022 at the age of 90.

Shirley was raised in Enid, Oklahoma and graduated from Stillwater High School in the class of 1949. She was named Pioneer Queen her Sr. year. She attended Oklahoma State University for 2 years. She married Robert Felton on September 4, 1951 in Stillwater, OK. Robert was offered a job in Kentucky, near Lexington, as a ranch manager. They lived there for 12 years before moving back to Oklahoma. Shirley loved ranch life (except for riding horses) and being a mom to their 4 children. Shirley was a good seamstress and made most of her girl's dresses. She also enjoyed playing bridge, reading, knitting, and baking. They had cherry trees in their back yard in Kentucky, and she made the best pies from those cherries. The family moved back to Stillwater in 1968 when Robert (Bob) was given a job with the American Hereford Association. They moved to Sulphur, Ok in 1970, where he was ranch manager for Winrock Hereford ranch. They also lived in Arkansas and Missouri at ranches there. They moved to Ardmore when he retired to be closer to grandchildren. They made their home in Ardmore for the last 28 years. In her later years she started playing golf and thoroughly enjoyed going out with her ladies group.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents Ernest and Robbye Friday, brother, Bob Friday, sisters, Carolyn and Dorothy Friday, grandson, Shelby Ross, great granddaughter, Nevaeh Kamm, son-in-law Larry Ross, and daughter-in-law Beth Felton.

She is survived by her husband Robert Felton; daughters Kaye Ross and Susie Newton and her husband Steve; sons, Bill Felton and his wife Julie, and Jim Felton and his wife Angie; grandchildren Spencer Ross and his wife Jenny, and Jenna Ross; Derek Kamm and Clay Kamm; Lucas Felton and his wife Katelyn, Jordan Fisher and her husband, Andrew; Zach Felton and his wife, Jenny, Taylor Felton, Sloan Felton, and Turner Felton; great grandchildren, Riley Ross, Samuel Ross, Mikala Kamm, Hazel Kamm, Aiden Kamm, James Felton, Madelyn Felton, Jacob Felton, Emily Fisher, and Drew Fisher.
