Obituary

Sophia Lane McGee was born July 29, 1965 to Nasaria (Nicky) Elliott-Sanchez and Jerry Van Lane in Ardmore, Oklahoma. 

She graduated from Ardmore High School in 1984, Aladdin Beauty College in 1985 and in 1986 she received her Management Certificate from Chickasaw Housing in Oklahoma City.

She loved playing softball, bingo, and dancing. She was a people person who never met a stranger and was always helping out others. She was a very bright light with a heart of gold.

Her grandkids were here life. She made sure to give them the best life by showing her love, guidance, and support. She made sure she never missed anything they were involved in from pageants, cheer, sports, or even rodeoing.

She met the love of her life Darryl McGee in 2005. They married in 2015 in Ardmore, Oklahoma. They then built and own "McGee Manual Labor" and  in 2020 they opened and own "Sophie's BBQ Truck."

Together they started fighting her battle with breast cancer in 2016 and then bone cancer in 2021. Her husband was her rock. Her grandchildren gave her the will to fight and enjoyed every second with them. She would climb mountains for her children and grandchildren.

She adored her mother and best friend. She always had a smile on her face through everything she battled.

She sadly lost her battle with cancer on March 12th at Mercy Hospital. She was proceeded in death by her mother, father, and mother-in-law Vera M. McGee.

She leaves behind her husband Darryl (Tony); her precious children, daughter Lindsay Glover and partner Richard, son William M. Kinard and wife Aspen; as well as her step daughters; brothers, Anthony Meredith (Tony), Charles Ray Meredith, Christopher Morales and Jarrod Lane; sister Gloria Woodruff; grandchildren Dayveon Glover, Makayla Singleton, Is'leigh Douglas, Cayden, Memphis, William, Stevie, Hudson Kinard; several nieces and nephews as well as great-nieces and nephews.

Services will be Saturday, March 28th at 11:00 a.m. at Craddock Funeral Home in Ardmore, Oklahoma. Honorary Pallbearer's will be Juan Woodruff, Nick Woodruff, Anthony Meredith, Ruben Meredith, Dalton Morales, and Dylan Morales. There will be a visitation Friday, March 27th from 7:00p.m.-8:00p.m.
