Obituary

A memorial service for Speedy Ann (Jones) Deerinwater is scheduled for Saturday, August 17th at 10:00 a.m. at the Craddock Memorial Chapel in Ardmore. Ann was called to heaven on August 10, 2024 at the age of 69 with family by her side.

Ann was born December 29, 1954 to Pearl (Altom) and Sidney Jones in Blair, OK and attended High School in Madill. She married Jim Deerinwater in the late 1979 and they shared two wonderful decades together, traveling, enjoying the outdoors, and loving each other until his passing in 1995.

Ann had a passion for adventure; she lived in many states such as Washington, Florida, Tennessee, Colorado, Arizona and of course, Oklahoma throughout her lifetime.

In 2001, Ann met Ben Richerson in a small cafe while living near Lake Murray. For the next twenty years, they shared their lives together, working side-by-side, fishing, camping, and creating a quiet, country life.

Ann was a kind, thoughtful, and resilient woman. She loved animals, was an excellent seamstress, and treasured time with her grandkids.

Ann's final thoughts were of her family, expressing her immense love for all and ensuring everybody that she was at peace and ready to join her loved ones in heaven.

Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Pearl and Sidney Jones; husband Jim Deerinwater; companion Ben Richarson; and 9 siblings.
She is survived by her son Chris Jones and his wife Jamie; bonus children Tim Sakveeradealkal, Tony Deerinwater, Bob Deerinwater, and Lydia Brink; brother Rex Jones; sister Lucy Edwards and her husband Wayne; 11 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
