Obituary

Sterling Eggleston was born November 16, 1927 to Rachel "Irene" (Grace) and Elbert "Larence" Eggleston in Coahoma, TX. He passed from this life on March 29, 2025.

Sterling married Bennye Faye Vaught in Odessa, TX on April 5, 1946. From this marriage they had two children, Pamela and Sterling II. They moved to Ardmore in 1967 after living in Mancos, Colorado. Sterling began working at Humble Oil, which became Exxon Mobil, at the age of 16 and remained there until his retirement at the age of 55. He and Bennye Faye were members of the First Baptist Church of Ardmore.

Sterling was a man of God and never missed an opportunity to share his faith. He was involved in the prison ministry program and impacted countless lives. He was loved by many and will be sorely missed.

Sterling was preceded in death by his wife Bennye Faye; parents Larence and Irene Eggleston; son Sterling Eggleston II; 1 brother; 2 sisters; and son in law Danny Ford.

He is survived by his daughter Pamela Ford; grandchildren Christopher Ford and Anthony Ford; great grandchild Alexis Sisco; and one great great grandchild.

A memorial service is scheduled for Tuesday, April 8th at 1:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Ardmore with Devan Johnson, Jack Murphy, and Brook Edmonds officiating.
