Susan (Susie) Scott passed away Sunday December 17, 2023, after an extended illness. She passed peacefully in her sleep at home while surrounded by family. She was born April 7, 1949, in Duncan, Oklahoma. Her parents Louis Albert Chasteen and Mary Frances Kuykendall Chasteen of Duncan proceeded her in death. She is also proceeded in death by her sister Mary Dell Chasteen Nottingham of Duncan, and a brother Jack Chasteen who died in early childhood.
In 1967 she graduated Duncan High School and married her husband of 56 years, Lawrence (Larry) Addison Scott. In 1970 the couple moved to Ardmore, which they have called home since.
Susie was a dedicated wife and mother, grandmother, and great grandmother whose life revolved around her family. She is survived by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild. Son, Jason Addison Scott and his wife Tamela Harmon Scott of Acworth, Georgia; daughter Alison Nicole Scott and wife Elizabeth Yvonne Hill Waltz of Ardmore; grandsons Cameron Addison Scott and his wife Rachel Shannon Robider Scott of Rockmart, Georgia and Curtis Aidan Scott of Statesboro, Georgia; and great grandson Walker Addison Scott of Rockmart, Georgia.
Susie was a member of the Maxwell Avenue Church of Christ, the Ardmore Church of Christ, and the Merrick Drive Church of Christ over her lifetime in Ardmore. Over the years she was active in the church in many capacities. Susie worked for several CPA's during her life in Ardmore including John Lawrence and Larry Wilkes. She finished her career in the accounting department of the Ardmore City School system. She enjoyed spending time gardening and reading in addition to her time spent with family and friends.
In addition to her husband Lawrence, children and grandchildren, Susie is also survived by her very close friends Geneva Matlack, Talana Bennett, and beloved dog Haggis.

Visitation will be held at Craddock Funeral home in Ardmore on Wednesday December 20th) from 7-8PM
Memorial Service will be held at Merrick Drive Church of Christ on Thursday, December 21st at 10:00 a.m. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 7 to 8:00 p.m. at Craddock Funeral Home.
Memorial donations can be made to Cross Timbers Hospice or the Ardmore Animal shelter.
