Obituary

Teddy "Ted" Hammer was born February 20, 1952, in Ardmore, OK, to Max and Thelma (Pruett) Hammer. He departed this life on July 4th, 2023, at his residence.

Ted was a graduate of Lone Grove High School. He was a 32 Degree Mason and a Shriner. He was known as a jack of all trades. From Carpentry, restoring houses, mechanical and electrical, there was no limit to his skills. He, along with his brother Billy Max, was known as the "Domino Champs" among other skills. He played the guitar, keyboard, piano, and organ and was also in the band "Shadows of Time". He was active in 4H, obtaining Grand Champion, Bowling 300's, a pool Shark, and a king of poker and Texas Hold 'em.

Ted was employed in the early 1970's at Montgomery Wards as the Auto Center Manager. In his spare time, you could hear him DJ on KICM Radio with his good friend Terry Bell. After the closing of Montgomery Wards, Ted worked as a store manager for McCoy's and then AutoZone in Pampa, TX where he later retired.

He was married to Kandy Kay Hammer on December 29, 1995, at the Lake Murray Chapel.

Ted was preceded in death by is father, Max Hammer; mother, Thelma (Pruett) Hammer Bailey; Stepfather, George Bailey; sister-in-law, Margaret Hammer; niece Tammy Hammer; nephew, Dewitt Hammer.

He is survived by his wife of the home, Kandy Kay Hammer and her son, Camron King Murphy and his spouse Kristan of Ardmore, OK; daughter, Jacqui Aguirre and her husband Gus of Oceanside, CA, and son Markus Murphy of Fort Worth, TX. He is also survived by the mother of his children, Connie (Alexander) Hammer and son, Toby Wayne Hammer and spouse Annie of Grandfield, OK; daughter, Tina Gayle (Hammer) Edwards and spouse Wesley of Yukon, OK; brother, Billy Max Hammer of Round Rock, TX, grandchildren Aimee Hammer Mejia and spouse Rudy, Ethan Hammer, Jacee Hammer, Blayden Hammer, Emma, Lily, and Olive McCasland, Michael Sundeen and spouse Kalee, Icelynn Sundeen, Paxton (Edwards) Turner and spouse Tyler, Chase Edwards, Brittlynn Sundeen and Kinley Peace, Faith Murphy, Zoe Murphy, Ryker Murphy, and Lucas Murphy, and Lilian Aguirre. Great Grandchildren, Swazy Sundeen and Kaedon, Jersey, Brooklyn, Shiloh, Chaney, and Harper Mejia. Numerous cousins from the Hammer and Pruett side.

The family would like to give special thanks to Cross Timbers Hospice and his two nurses, Leta and Jimmy.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Toby Hammer, Markus Murphy, Wesley Edwards, Micheal Sundeen, Larry, and Marshal Mitchell.

A memorial service for Ted is scheduled for Saturday, July 8th, 2023, at 10:00 am at the Wilson First Baptist Church located at 1384 Eight St. Wilson, OK 73463.
