Thomas Henry Ament Jr.
July 11, 1950 – May 26, 2026
It is with deep sadness and love that we announce that Thomas Henry Ament Jr. passed away peacefully at home in Ardmore, Oklahoma, on May 26, 2026, surrounded by family.
Thomas lived a life devoted to both military and civil service. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, carrying forward a commitment to duty, honor, and service that remained with him throughout his life. Following his military career, he continued serving the nation through civil service with the Department of Defense, ultimately retiring from the Pentagon, where he dedicated many years of faithful service.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Thomas will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, brother, and friend whose greatest pride was his family. He was the kind of man who was always there when family needed him, offering support, guidance, and a helping hand without hesitation. His steady presence and dependable nature brought comfort and strength to those around him.
Thomas also found great joy in tinkering and working with his hands, especially when it came to cars and bicycles. Whether repairing, improving, or simply enjoying the process of figuring things out, he had a natural curiosity and appreciation for craftsmanship that reflected his patient and thoughtful spirit.
Those who knew Thomas will also remember his sense of humor and ability to make others laugh. Whether through a well-timed joke, playful teasing, or his unique way of seeing the world, he brought warmth and lightheartedness to family gatherings and everyday moments alike.
He is survived by his loving wife, P. Kelley Ament; his children Aaron Ament and spouse Rebecca, Adam Ament, Amie Fanucci and spouse Marc, Ashley Quichocho and spouse Joey, Aric Ament and spouse Karen, Susan Kearney and spouse Steve, Catherine Clyde and spouse Bob, Patrick Ament, and Dylan Ament; his siblings Brenda Dye, Jennie Stromberg, Mary Gahagan, Rebecca Ales, and Leonard Ament; his cherished grandchildren Julie, Savannah, John, Jacob, Victoria, Abigale, Anthony, Xander and Chloe; many nieces and nephews; and beloved pets Daps, Lucy Lou, Piper, and Lexie.
Thomas was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Henry Ament Sr., mother, Helen Ament, and beloved child, Amberleigh.
Though his absence leaves a tremendous void, his love, guidance, and memory will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His family finds comfort in knowing he passed peacefully and is now at rest among those who welcomed him home.
He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered always. The family has requested that memorial contributions in honor of Thomas Ament Jr. be made to either the Ardmore Animal Care Inc. or Cross Timbers Hospice Inc.
