Thomas George Atkins was born August 23, 1948 to Ellen H. (McCready) and George W. Atkins in Washington D.C. He passed from this life on January 24, 2021 at the age of 72.

Tom graduated from Highpoint High School in Maryland. Upon graduation he moved to California to work with his brother in the auto body industry. Tom worked all over the country in the auto body business and owned an automotive body shop in North Carolina. He specialized in painting show cars, most commonly corvettes. Tom moved to the Ardmore area in 2002 after he retired to be closer to his brother. On March 1, 2006 he married Gay Hull in Las Vegas, NV. They made their home in Ardmore where he joined the American Iron Riders and eventually served as their President.

Tom loved riding his Harley, woodworking, and watching Nascar. He also enjoyed outdoor activities including hunting, fishing, and camping.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, George and Ellen Atkins; 4 half sisters; and 3 half brothers.

He is survived by his wife Gay Atkins of the home; daughter Krystle Compton and her fiancé Anthony Giovannoni of Redding, CA; son Dan Atkins and his wife Michelle of Tombstone, AZ; stepchildren Jaclyn Woods and her husband Scott of Ardmore, Courtney Perkins and her husband Kurtis of Luther, OK, and Monica Hull of Ardmore; sister Alison Atkins of Folsom, CA; 19 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled for Thursday evening from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Craddock Funeral Home where masks will be required. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
