Funeral services for Victor Colbert are scheduled for Monday, May 6th, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father Kevin Ratterman officiating. A Rosary will be held Sunday evening at 6:00 p.m. at Craddock Funeral Home with a visitation to follow.

Victor (Vick) Kensington Colbert was born November 19, 1942 to Ruth (McKinney) and Alexander Colbert in Talihina, OK. He passed from this life on April 28, 2024 at the age of 81.

Vick attended Mount Saint Mary's Catholic School in Oklahoma City. At the age of 18 he enlisted in the United States Air Force where he served for 4 years. During this time he saw active duty from January 3, 1961 to December 7, 1964. Vick also recalled watching the Cuban Missile Crisis on radar while in the Air Force. After his time in the military he enrolled at the University of Oklahoma.

Vick spent 20 years with the Oklahoma City Police department and served as the president of the fraternal order of police. After retiring (the first time) he opened a sailboat shop for several years. Vick went back to work with the U.S. Marshall's office then became Head of Security at the U.S. Attorney's office after the Oklahoma City Bombing. After Robi retired they moved to Lake Texoma for the past 3 years. Vick said his dad named him Kensington as he wanted him to have a distinguished name. He was a grape grower and wine maker. He had a little vineyard in Yukon for several years. Vick had a buggy horse named Sandy, who he loved to hook up to his buggy and drive. He said she was a "good ol gal".

Vick enjoyed sailing his sailboats and driving motorcycles. His motorcycles gave him great joy. Vick and Robi loved taking trips across the county with Robi in the sidecar. He loved playing his guitar and singing Roly Poly to his grandkids. Vick enjoyed helping friends a neighbors on his tractor, doing dirtwork. He had a love for airplanes and very proud of his pilot's license, always keeping it in his billfold. He was a trained Stephen Minister. Vick most enjoyed spending time in his barn on projects. The past few years he would make shrines and traveling shrines that he took everywhere he traveled. It was the first thing he would pack. It gave Vick pleasure to make and give to his friends, but would always have them blessed first. He would always say "Old Indians never die, they just fade away".

Bryan Hooper, John Carnuccio, Tom Devonshire, Mike Head, Larry McNeff, and Charles Tate will serve as pallbearers.

Vick was preceded in death by his parents, Alexander and Ruth Colbert and daughter Elise Johnson.

He is survived by his wife Robi, 1 week shy of 46 years; sons Victor Colbert and his wife Penny, Casey Colbert and Melissa, and Scott Colbert and his wife Lori; siblings George Colbert and his wife Patti, Mary Morris, Eva Brittain and her husband Billy, Cherrie Darnold, and Annie Johnson and her husband Mike; 6 grandchildren and 2 bonus grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren and 3 bonus great grandchildren.
