Weldon Luke Pollard, born on November 2, 1946, to Ojuania (Whaley) and Noah Pollard in Duncan, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on July 17, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.

Luke graduated from Velma-Alma High School in 1965. During his high school years, he hauled hay in Stephens and Carter County for the Biffle family, often telling people it was his greatest talent. After high school, he attended Oklahoma State University. During his summers in college, Luke sold books for the Southwestern Book Company. After college, Luke began a lengthy career as a builder and developer with his older brother, Elza, in Norman, Oklahoma. In 1974, he moved to Ardmore, Oklahoma, to continue the construction business on his own. Luke married Lisa Brown on October 22, 1976, in Ardmore, Oklahoma. Together, they built a life filled with love and family. Luke made men out of his four boys Brent, Jason, Chase, and Braden, often expressing how proud he was of them.

In 1986, Luke entered the insurance business. He later co-founded Arbuckle Closing with his wife, Lisa, in 2006. In 2014, he launched Arbuckle Insurance Group. His biggest business achievement came when he opened the Arbuckle Abstract Plants in Love County in 2019, and then in Carter County in 2023, along with his son Chase and Lisa. He was extremely proud of the Arbuckle staff for their hard work and dedication.

Luke was involved in several community organizations, including being a past president of the Arbuckle Sunrise Rotary Club, Master Mason, and Shriner. He also supported local youth athletes as well as the Carter and Love County FFA. He was a great outdoorsman, often found hunting, catching (but not fishing), and partaking in agricultural jobs. His favorite outdoor activity was elk hunting on horseback in the Rocky Mountains with his father, son Brent, and friends. He loved watching his sons and grandchildren excel in their academics and athletic events, often boasting to anyone who would listen how proud he was of them all.

Luke was preceded in death by his parents, Noah and Ojuania Pollard. He is survived by his wife Lisa Pollard; sons Brent and wife Christi; Jason Pollard and wife Sarah; Chase Pollard and wife Callie; and Braden Pollard and wife Renee; brother Elza Pollard and wife Kathy and their children Shannon and Turner Pollard; grandchildren Trent Pollard and wife Taylor; Payton Hokit, Trey Hokit, Kaitlyn Pollard, Reese Pollard, McRae Pollard, Carson Pollard, Deryn Pollard, Easton Pollard, and Scotty Pollard; great-granddaughters Hadley Pollard and Violet McMillan; along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Honorary pallbearers are Brent Pollard, Jason Pollard, Chase Pollard, Braden Pollard, Mark Ellis, Jack Cunningham, Jackie Cunningham, and the entire Arbuckle staff.

A memorial service to honor Luke's life will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, July 26, 2024 at the Craddock Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Christian Murdock officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Craddock Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The Shriner's Hospital in Shreveport in his memory.
