Obituary

Wilbert Floyd Quick was born January 29, 1937 to Clara Myrtle (Grisham) and Floyd Quick in Healdton, OK. He passed from this life on May 11, 2026 at the age of 89.

Wilbert “Bert” was a graduate of Dundee High School in the class of 1955. He married Emily Jane Garrett in September 1955. Upon her passing he married Diana Hammond in July of 1987. Bert was blessed to have 2 beautiful marriages each lasting over 30 years. Bert had a long career with Shell Pipeline where he traveled the country as a Pipeline Welding Inspector. He even spent time working offshore in the Gulf of Mexico. He retired from Shell Pipeline in 1996. After retirement Bert and Diana returned to Ardmore where they became members of Emmanual Baptist Church. 

Bert loved music and was a skilled guitar player and singer. It was a joy for the family to listen to Pops play and sing. Bert loved watching sports of all kinds. Especially anything Oklahoma Sooners or the Thunder. He even was caught watching golf a few times. Bert loved traveling around the state looking for places to metal detect. He loved exploring Oklahoma ghost towns. He enjoyed growing a garden, working in his yard and he especially loved to be surrounded by his family.

Wilbert was preceded in death by his parents Floyd and Clara Quick; wife Emily Quick; wife Diana Quick; siblings Florence Mossman, Raymond Quick, Rosa Haines, and Marie Roe.

He is survived by his sons Wilbert Quick Jr. and his wife Olga, Danny Quick and his wife Leslie, Rick Quick and his wife Maggie; bonus kids Lee and Lynn Henson, Brenda and Gary Walker, and Julie Weatherford; sister Wilma Tomlinson; grandchildren Amanda Stinnett, Hollie Fansler, Jessica Moore, Emily Ballard, Adrian Khanukov, Daniel Quick, Ellie Quick, Clara Quick, Chad Henson, Chris Walker, Lesley Weatherford, and a host of great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, May 18 th at 10:00 a.m. at the Emmanuel Baptist Church with Rev. Donny Custar officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Shawnee, OK. Visitation will be Sunday afternoon from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Craddock Funeral Home.

Grandsons will serve as honorary pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Emmanual Baptist Church of Ardmore.
