William R. Green was born June 22, 1926 to Mary (Hattensty) and Albert Green in Stobtown, OK. He passed from this life to enter heaven's gates on May 4, 2018 at the age of 91.

William "Sonny" Green attended Deese Public Schools. In October of 1944 Sonny enlisted in the United States Army and served in World War II. When he returned, Sonny married Margaret (Bray) on November 14, 1945 in Ardmore, OK. From this marriage they had two children Barbara and William R. Green, Jr. He had several jobs throughout his life including working construction, ruff necking on oil fields, and as he would say "you name it". Despite working hard every day, Sonny never complained of any pain.  He never met a stranger. On June 27, 1980 Sonny married his second wife, Imogene (Phillips) in Gainesville, TX.

Sonny was preceded in death by his parents Mary and Albert Green; wife Margaret Green; sisters Almedia Hilderbrand, Moselle Harkness, and Marie Green; brother Herman Green; and stepson Skipper Morton.

He is survived by his wife Imogene Green; daughter Barbara Royal; son William R. Green, Jr.; stepchildren Earl Morton, Huey Morton, Curtis Morton, Keith Morton, and Connie Sanchez; grandchildren Rodney Green, Christopher Royal and his wife LaTasha, Darrell Royal and his wife Heather, and William Derrick Green; 6 great grandchildren; and numerous step grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be Monday, May 7 th at 11:00 a.m. at Lone Grove Cemetery with Steve Robinson officiating. A visitation will be Sunday afternoon from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Craddock Funeral Home.
