Raymond Ralph Richards, 92, departed this life December 24, 2016 in Ardmore, OK.  He was born July 18, 1924 to Raymond Dudley (RD) Richards and Eva Mae (Ellis) Richards at Dillard OK.  He was a resident of Carter Country his entire life attending Plainview High School until his service in the US Army 1943-45.  He served as a Forward Observer for an antiaircraft unit throughout France and Germany.  Upon return he worked as a Roughneck in the oil fields and the served 24 years as deputy Sheriff in Carter County.

He was preceded in death by his parents, R.D. and Eva Richards, four brothers; Ray, Jack, Farris and Jim.  Also one son, Rocco Mark Rickards and one daughter Connie Day Green.

Ralph is survived by his wife, Yvonne, of the home; sister, Yonna Davis and husband Dave of Cleveland Tennessee; daughters, Elaine Youree and husband Gary of Heavener, OK, Doris Jean Smith and husband Bobby of Ardmore and Judy Mitchell of Mansfield, TX. Survived also by one son; Raymond (Sonny) and wife Becky of Stringtown, OK.  He is survived by 13 Grandchildren, 19 Great Grandchildren and 2 Great Great Grandchildren.

Ralphs greatest joy was fishing the area lakes with his brothers, nephews and kids. He built many of his lures and his biggest story was catching a 10.55 lb bass out of Lake Murray with one of his creations.  Ralph raised Britany Spaniels and shot his share of quail, ducks and geese in his day.

Serving as pallbearers will be DeWayne Parker, Chris and Casey Auten, Bobby Smith, Rodney Richards and Gunnar Thompson.

Services will be held Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at 1:00 PM at Craddock Memorial Chapel with Randall Richard officiating.  Interment will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery.
